Workers’ motivation affects recruitment and retention, which are areas of key concern in many healthcare systems. Using unique survey data on Danish general practitioners (GPs) before, during, and after the COVID-19 pandemic, this talk discusses findings from a study investigating changes in motivation and possible drivers (GP, practice, or area characteristics).
This talk presents the North Carolina Collaboratory as a model of science policy and research/development funding. Since its authorization by the NC General Assembly in 2016, more than 600 research projects on topics including PFAS, COVID-19, opioids, and flood resiliency have been funded through the Collaboratory. The talk will highlight operational lessons learned from the Collaboratory as well as strategic priorities.
This talk examines what a second Trump administration will mean for the state capacity of the federal government, focusing on Trump's proposed plans to reorganize government, relying on a greater politicization of the traditional civil service. What are these plans, and what can prior research tell us about how it will affect the quality of American government?
